Putin says Yandex should open development office in Far East
MOSCOW, Sep 21 (PRIME) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has suggested that local Internet giant Yandex should open an office in the country’s Far East, he said during his visit to the company’s Moscow-based headquarters on Thursday.
Putin met with Yandex’s Chief Operating Officer Alexander Shulgin and Chief Financial Officer Greg Abovsky, who said that the company employs 7,000 people with an average age of 30 years old, who are mostly graduates of the country’s leading universities.
Yandex has development offices in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Nizhny Novgorod. Putin said that the company should think of expanding to the Far East, which is actively evolving now and has a university.
“Got it, the remark has been accepted,” Shulgin said, adding that the company is present in many cities in search for talented youth.
